Cat chow? Credit: Dave

In another exclusive scoop on Doug’s Darkworld, our exclusive source tell us that because of the nation’s contaminated pet food supply, attempts were made to feed Dick Cheney’s cat a live puppy this past weekend. We’ve blogged about the Vice President’s evil cat before, this new development illustrates once again the depths to which the Bush Administration will sink to protect its own. And of course with the power the administration has over the media, this story won’t be seen anywhere in the news. If that’s not proof of massive government conspiracy, I don’t know what is.

In a more serious vein, our prayers and go out to those who have lost pets or had pets sickened in the current rat poison contaminated pet food disaster. I wish I could say this was a fluke, but sadly as I may have warned before, this sort of problem is just going to get worse in the years to come. Why? Because of the increasing centralization of the nation’s food supply. When all of the nation’s supply of a food commodity comes from one area, gluten and lettuce being two recent examples, a single field can contaminate the entire country. Egad’s.

Even worse, this is an area where terrorism is a real possibility. Yikes. A clever terrorist could figure out a single ingredient that goes into a wide array of food, then contaminate it at its source. In fact it’s even possible that this pet food poisoning was a dry run for an attack on America’s human food supply. Why is the administration ignoring this? Because fixing it would be prohibitively expensive or would require the US going back to far more localized food production. Either would hurt the profits of the giant corporations who are increasingly in control of the world’s food supply, and since protecting giant corporations’ profits is the one thing the Bush administration is 100% committed to and amazingly successful at, don’t count on them to protect you.

The best thing one can do to ensure their own food supply is safe is to buy from local producers and small producers as much as possible. In fact growing your own food is the best way of all to protect your family. It’s no wonder that someone once said: “Growing your own food is the most revolutionary thing a person can do.” Personally, I still take my chances with processed food and junk food all the time, but I like living on the edge.

While I am on the subject of terrorism, here’s a nice article that touches on these issues, and the whole host of problems associated with the so called war on terror: Terrorized by “War on Terror.” And for more background on the whole idea that Bush didn’t use enough troops to occupy Iraq, here is an excellent article: Troop Levels in Stability Operations: What We Don’t Know. A person could spend their whole life studying the background to the world’s problems, and know less than when they started. I am beginning to think this is why some people simply parrot the opinions they hear on Michael Savage or read in Mother Jones. It’s got to be a million times easier than studying what is going on and thinking for yourself.

Coming soon to Doug’s Darkworld, blogs on the Manichean Heresy, the End of Empire, amnesia, and cats are in the pipeline. And yes, any information found on this web site regarding Dick Cheney’s cat should be taken with large amounts of salt. My source may not be entirely reliable. If a person should send cat pictures, news scoops, and blog suggestions to Doug’s Darkworld…anything could happen.
